Death :
* Lydia was about 44 years old when she died.
* She was killed by her husband, Andrew, in 1858.
* Andrew was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 6 months imprisonment in Oatlands Gaol.
* Andrew had been out during the day and returned at 8 pm. He found Lydia partly dressed on the bed, under the influence of drink, having obtained a light, he made himself some tea, his wife afterwards came into the room, and indulged freely in abusive and aggravated language, which roused his temper. He struck her a blow on the side of the head which caused her to fall to the ground, touching the corner of the table. Finding Lydia did not move, he raised her up and placed her in a chair. He observed a change in her countenance and found she was dead.
