    Notes for biography * Lydia was arrested on the 5th May 1786, aged 19 years, for grand larceny. On 31st May,Lydia and Catherine McCord faced the Old Bailey by the second Middlesex Jury before Mr Rose. They were indicted for feloniously stealing, on 5th May, one pair of women's stuffed shoes, value 2s 6d, the property of Archibald Smith. They were both found to be not guilty.
    * On the same day at the Old Bailey she was acquitted of stealing, with others, 13 years of lace.
    * On 5th April 1787 she, and Ann Forbes, were tried at Kingston Upon Thames for stealing material (10 yards of printed cotton) valued 20 shillings. She was sentenced to transportation for 14 years - having originally been sentenced to death.
    * * Lydia was sentenced to 14 years transportation in Surrey in 1787 and transported, with the 'First Fleet' on the 'Prince of Wales' in 1788. (ref : claimaconvict website)
