    Migration 1852
    Migration : To SA on 'China' in 1852 - see the biography of his father, Sinclair Blue.
    Achievements & main events Achievements :
    * Doctor
    * He was mayor of Strathalbyn from 1875 to 1879 and again 1883 to 1885 (this second term of mayor might have ceased because of his ill-health). (ref : Gremmell, p 94)
    Notes for biography Anecdote : An odd aside is that in 1887 WP Dunk gave Billy a watch. It was a gent's gold hunting keyless chronograph with an inscription on the inside of the back case 'W.P.Dunk to W.A.S Blue, in kind remembrance, 1887'. It had a gold curb albert and fine links attached. We not know what Billy had done to prompt this gift but it it must have been something exceptional because the watch would have been of considerable value. It might have been around the time that he and Kitty were leaving Strathalbyn but it seems to have been personal to Blue from Dunk rather than general acknowledgement from the Strathalbyn Council, for example. William Peter Dunk was a civic minded businessman and freemason from Milang - a huge man said to be the tallest in the state. It seems that Billy's eldest son inherited the watch but it was stolen in 1902 from the home of Walter J Gollin in NSW. (ref : NSW Police Gazette, 10th Dec 1902, p 481)

    * Billy's mother, Mary, died the year before himself.
    Notes for biography Health :

    * It seems that ill health overtook him around the time he retired to Hahndorf. (ref : Butler p 264)
    * While still a relatively young man (in his late 30s?), he became sick and thereafter lived quietly at Largs Bay and then Hahndorf. (ref : Butler p486)
